For the film

http://www.archive.org/details/GekitotsuSatsujinKentheStreetFighter

there are subtitles provided as .idx files. I downloaded these hoping that my VLC player would recognize them automatically as it is said in the film´s description.

My VLC player recognizes automatically the subtitles which are provided on this site for Aerograd, which are .srt files and the subtitles I found elsewhere for Zvenigora, which are also .srt files (in this case I had to rename the .srt file first but then it worked).

Did I do something wrong mow? Can anybody help me?

You forgot the 4.3MB .sub file.

Thank you very much for the immediate answer.

I have downloaded the 4.3 MB. sub file, so I have both files, the idx and sub, both in the same directory as the movie file, and I have updated my VLC player today to get the newest version if that´s the problem.

But if I play the movie, I don´t get any subtitles. What can I do now?

In VLC menu go to Video/Subtitles Track/. It is normally disabled.
